Partnerships at Thornycroft

We are excited to announce that we have recently joined forces with both Grow Wakefield and Turning Point Talking Therapies to offer new workshops to clients at our Thornycroft centre. 

 

At our Thornycroft Centre we are committed to community support, and we consistently aim to provide new and exciting services to our clients and those in the local area. By partnering with Grow Wakefield and Turning Point Talking Therapies, we're expanding our reach and bringing valuable expertise and experiences to the centre.

 

Grow Wakefield is a local organisation dedicated to transforming overgrown and underused pieces of land into attractive, edible community gardens and mini allotment plots. Grow Wakefield will be running sessions at the centre each Thursday from 10am until noon. Everyone is welcome, from complete beginners to experienced growers and participants will be invited to grow their own food whilst meeting with others who share the same interests. 

 

Turning Point Talking Therapies is a trusted provider of mental health services, specialising in talking therapies and counselling. Their experienced therapists are skilled in addressing various mental health challenges and providing the necessary support to individuals seeking help. 

Turning Point will initially run two workshops at the centre on the 14th and 28th February - topics covered will be combating low mood and living in uncertain times, both sessions will run from 11am – 12:30pm.  These workshops will provide participants with valuable tools and insights to improve their mental well-being, enabling them to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives.

 

As we move forward, these collaborations set a shining example of how organisations can pool their expertise and resources to make a positive impact on the mental and physical well-being of our communities.
