CISWO’s Thornycroft social inclusion centre welcomed Rhubarb Radio for a morning celebrating the people who make the centre special and highlighting The Big CISWalk, a wider fundraising challenge for a much-needed new accessible community minibus.
Members, staff, volunteers and supporters joined the station’s coverage, sharing how Thornycroft helps people connect through activities, friendship and community. As part of The Big CISWalk, participants have been getting involved at their own pace through daily walks, activities, games and refreshments.

“The Big CISWalk is about making sure everyone can get involved at a pace that feels right for them, while raising vital funds for an accessible minibus that will open up more opportunities for our members to enjoy activities, maintain friendships and stay connected to the support and community around them.

Every step taken through the challenge moves CISWO closer to securing a new minibus, enabling trips, social outings and vital connections with the wider community. The Big CISWalk runs from September to November 2026 and invites workplace teams and other supporters to walk a full CISWO minibus route, combine routes or set their own walking challenge while fundraising together.
