New kitchen development at Seven Sisters Miners Welfare supported by CISWO grant

A £6,639 grant from CISWO has supported Seven Sisters Miners Welfare Society in the development of a new, modern kitchen space, helping strengthen the charity’s ability to serve the local community.

The improved facilities at the Neath based welfare will enable the expansion of community groups, social inclusion activities and the introduction of new opportunities for both families and older residents. With the upgraded kitchen, trustees will be better placed to deliver more regular community sessions for people of all ages.

This development is expected to increase use of the venue, strengthen local connections and help reduce isolation across Seven Sisters and the surrounding areas, ensuring the welfare continues to provide an inclusive and welcoming space for the community.

Ieuan Evans, Trustee at Seven Sisters Miners Welfare Society, said:

We are grateful to CISWO for their support, not only for this much-needed grant but also for the continued encouragement they have shown to Seven Sisters Miners Welfare Society.

This funding will make a real difference to our facilities and help us create a more welcoming, inclusive space for local people of all ages.

CISWO Chief Executive Nicola Didlock said:

We are proud to support Seven Sisters Miners Welfare Society with this grant for its new kitchen development.

Projects like this help strengthen vital community spaces, support social inclusion and ensure local people of all ages can access welcoming activities and services close to home.
