At CISWO, we are committed to supporting former coal mining communities by safeguarding recreational spaces, supporting local charities, and providing essential services.
The redevelopment of Carway Park in Carmarthenshire is a great example of how enhancing local facilities can bring people together and benefit entire communities.
The project, supported by CISWO and other funders, secured over £200,000, including £48,000 in match funding from CISWO. This investment has transformed the park into a modern, welcoming space for people of all ages.
The redevelopment included the installation of new play equipment suitable for children of different age groups, improved landscaping, and the creation of communal areas where families and community members can come together. These upgrades ensure the park is accessible, safe, and fit for purpose for years to come.
The grant from CISWO has contributed massively to Carway’s new park, benefiting not only the local children but also the wider community – representative from the Carway Committee
We are proud to have supported this project and remain committed to working with communities like Carway to ensure facilities like this continue to meet local needs.
