CISWO seeks new Trustees

CISWO, The Coal Mining Charity, is looking for experienced and committed individuals to join its Board of Trustees.

Our mission is to improve the lives of individuals and communities experiencing disadvantage as a result of the coal mining industry. We deliver services across all former coalfield areas in the UK, providing practical support and advice to former miners and their families, investing in local communities, and protecting and improving recreational land.

We are seeking to broaden the skills and experience represented on our Board. We would particularly welcome applications from people with a strong personal connection to the coal mining community and previous trustee experience. We are also keen to hear from candidates with expertise in health or social care, fundraising, marketing and communications, governance, or other relevant fields.

Successful candidates will have experience of operating at a senior level within a large or complex organisation, whether in a paid or voluntary capacity. They will be able to demonstrate effectiveness in their field, contribute strategic insight and take a practical, solutions-focused approach to supporting the charity’s work and long-term direction.

The Trustee role is unremunerated, but reasonable expenses will be covered.
