Our community welfare team is working closely with trustees at Cwm and Llantwit Welfare, Pontypridd as they seek funding to preserve their much-loved welfare building that has served as the heart of their community for generations.
The Miners’ Hall already houses a wide range of activities and events, including bowls and skittle teams, darts, league-winning pool teams and regular weekly classes for people of all ages, such as tai-chi, armchair yoga, Friday Hub Club, and the Silver Surfers group.
With over £10,000 already secured from various funders, the trustees have ambitious plans to protect and develop the building and to enhance their service offer to include a food hub, youth area and increased support for older people within the community. CISWO’s grants team are supporting the welfare with various funding applications, working closely with the trustees to bring their plans to life.
Lisa Thomas, Chair at Cwm and Llantwit told us:
We are thrilled to be partnering and working closely with CISWO on many project ideas. Their overall help and assistance have been incredibly rewarding, and their support has been outstanding. The grant support we have received has been nothing short of exceptional, and we feel completely supported in every step of the process. Their dedication and expertise have helped not just the trustees and volunteers, but the entire community, in keeping the Miners’ Hall open and alive.
