The Coal Mining Charity
Enabling former coal miners and mining communities to reduce disadvantage.
Improving lives
We’re here to improve the lives of former coal miners and their families. We understand the struggles faced by those in former coal mining communities. We help you overcome some of the barriers you come up against and support you to lead a better quality life.

Supporting mining charities
We help more than 200 independent mining charities to continue delivering essential recreational and social facilities in local communities. Through providing guidance and governance support for coal mining charities to help them succeed.

Supporting recreational and community spaces
As one of the UK’s largest custodians of recreational land, we work to preserve facilities like football, rugby, and cricket pitches, as well as open recreation spaces, ensuring they remain accessible for former mining communities and future generations to enjoy.
