This is a new role within CISWO The coal mining charity, leading on all marketing, communications and PR activity for the organisation at an exciting time in our development.
You will develop and implement strategic communications plans for the charity ensuring consistency, clarity and impact. You will develop internal and external communications, including media relations, public relations, corporate messaging, publications, promotional merchandise and digital communications across a range of platforms. You will be responsible for delivering clear, on-brand messaging across a variety of different audiences and channels (both online and offline).
As a skilled marketing & communications professional you will have strong knowledge of content creation and an understanding of adapting content for a wide range of audiences. You will have a creative flair and the ability to devise communication strategies with clear and concise written, oral and presentation skills. You will have experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with media and journalists, pitching content and securing positive media coverage through the creation of press materials, press releases, and briefing documents.
You will be self-driven, and have a hands-on approach whilst also having the ability to think at a strategic level. Your strong communications skills will enable you to engage with a wide range of audiences and ensure the organisation’s communications do the same.
An experienced marketing, communications and PR professional, you will have significant proven experience and ideally have previously worked at a management level. An understanding of the charitable sector is also preferable although not essential.
