Are you an experienced marketing, communications and PR professional, who wants to lend your skills to a charity supporting former coal miners and communities?
CISWO is a national charity whose mission is to improve the lives of individuals and communities facing disadvantage due to the impact of the coal mining industry.
We are currently looking for a marketing and communications manager to join our Head Office team, to lead on all marketing, communications and PR activity for the organisation at an exciting time in our development. You will have a background in content creation, and building strong relationships with media and journalists. A creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative PR ideas, you will be be confident in adapting content for a wide range of audiences, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. An understanding of the charity sector is preferred, although not essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced marketing, communications and PR professional to develop and implement CISWO’s communications strategy, and support and promote the wider work of the charity.
As Marketing and Communications Manager, you will:
- Oversee and manage all marketing activities, taking ownership for the organisational brand and messaging.
- Develop comprehensive communications and marketing strategies and plans to drive and underpin activity and direction.
- Lead on public relations activity, including driving media coverage and coordinating media visits.
- Plan, design and create content for both online and offline resources, evidencing impact through storytelling and user engagement.
- Lead on the creation of brand collateral, ensuring compliance with brand standards.
- Lead on web development, continually improving and identifying ways in which this can be used to support service delivery, and increase the organisation’s presence on digital platforms
- Co-ordinate and participate in internal and external events, taking responsibility for logistics, internal and external liaison, set up, timetabling and evaluation.
The essential qualities, skills and experience you will need to apply for this role:
- Proven experience in marketing, communications and PR.
- Experience of developing plans, strategies and proposals.
- Experience of creating clear, engaging and on-brand messaging across a variety of different audiences and channels (both online and offline).
- Experience in copywriting for various platforms, with a strong attention to detail.
- Experience of dealing proactively and reactively with the media.
- Skilled at managing multiple projects, and able to meet deadlines.
- Able to gather and analyse data, providing reporting metrics and using these to influence activity.
- A team player.
- A passion for motivating and inspiring others, with excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Driving licence and access to own transport.
- Flexibility to travel across a wide geographic area with occasional overnight stays
